It was a great freshman dorm that was conveniently in the middle of campus. Some areas smelled like cheese, that may be from the dinning hall that's apart of the same building. Because it was a first-year dorm I had the chance to meet many people! more

Just like any other dorm. Uncomfortable beds, cheap or broken appliances, people who broke the quiet hours rule, etc. Can get to the main part of campus quickly. Creepy elevator so take the stairs. The main bathroom has a sideways shower, which I hated, but is accommodating to people who can't stand during a shower. more

My experience at Oak Glen is great. The dorms are always clean because of the maintenance who come every day to clean the bathrooms. Oak Glen is a great place to do your school work because the noise isn't loud. The common rooms are clean and a great place to hang out with your friends. more

It was a good first foray into campus dorming probably one of the best for the freshman dorming. Not really much to talk about there most of time it was fine there was a few times where quite of bit of noise or a fire alarm. The common room had a kitchen and a air hockey table which was really nice. Seeing how this is only the start and dorms get better I'm looking forward to that. more

I would recommend living in this area if you have a group that you'd like to live with prior to moving in. Otherwise, there isn't much socialization taken place because everyone isn't moving in and out of the same entrance in comparison to a dorm. more

I enjoy living in Balsam, but the overall cleanliness is revolting, with paper towels all over the sinks, throw-up, and people leaving their bras and underwear. Many residents trash the halls and destroy the building. Yes, we are children, but attending college has shown me how most students did not receive home education. The experience with the students has been incredible; we would all connect and get along. When the worst happens, we gather in the common room and talk about it. The advantages of balsam include free laundry and a kitchen. Each student is issued an access card, allowing us to scan the building and our room. After 7 RAs have sat in the front and checked in with everyone who lives in the building. There is security. more

Another aspect worth mentioning is the cleanliness of the bathrooms during weekdays. The diligent cleaners visit every day, ensuring that the bathrooms are well-maintained and hygienic. This attention to cleanliness contributes to a comfortable and pleasant living experience. However, it is worth noting that the cleanliness can deteriorate over the weekends since the cleaners do not visit during those days. It would be beneficial if the cleaning schedule was extended to include weekends as well to maintain consistent cleanliness throughout the week. One aspect that could be considered a drawback of Pine Dale is its relatively distant location from the main campus and freshman dorms. While this may not be a significant concern for upperclassmen who are accustomed to the campus layout, it can be a bit inconvenient for freshmen who have to traverse longer distances to attend classes. Nonetheless, the distance also offers a certain sense of separation from the hustle and bustle of campus life, allowing for a peaceful retreat at the end of a busy day.
