Comstock Hall Dorm Reviews at University of Minnesota

Comstock Hall is definitely quieter than the louder dorms on campus. This hall is all about location! It is a couple minutes away from a huge transit stop, and so many class buildings. The food here is okay, and just what you’d expect dorm food to taste like. Overall a very good choice.

Despite the dirtiness and sometimes loud experiences, Comstock has some of the best individuals living there, with an awesome location allowing you to have more free time than using that time to get to your next class.

Comstock is in a great location on campus. There are even sinks in each room, which is really handy. The dining hall in the building has pretty good food options and a really nice staff. The common areas are good too.

So far, I have loved my experience at Comstock Hall! The rooms each have sinks, which come in handy. If I had to choose something I couldn't live without especially during COVID, it would be my sink, so I am extremely grateful to have it! The staff at Comstock is very kind and always supportive. Although it is generally quieter here, I have enjoyed the friends I have made and the location is amazing! The perfect view of the city and location right on the Mississippi River, only steps away from the Union and the Mall makes it all worth it!

It is not a very full dorm, so the bathrooms are never at full capacity, which is nice. It is a co-ed dorm, but there are several men's, women, and gender-neutral bathrooms on each level so it's never been an issue for me. The dorm is outdated, but I was put in a triple room with only one roommate, so I have a lot of space and I cannot complain. There is only one big common space in the basement, and there is a computer lab in the West wing. Comstock does have it's own dining hall, and the staff there is very personable and helpful.

Comstock was such a fun place to live! it's not the newest or nicest but it definitely gives you that classic college freshman experience, and that's what was most important for me anyways. Comstock is probably the best located dorm as it's right by the bridge to get over to West Bank, but it's also still super close to all the East Bank buildings (and it's right next door to the student union building!)

I absolutely loved the location! Perfect place for a first year student as they can really see and get to know campus well from this dorm. Not the fanciest, but the location and sinks in each room make up for it!
