Craige Hall Dorm Reviews at UNC

Although the common title for this call is "crusty Craige," it's honestly not bad. It has a bad reputation though it isn't terrible. The gaming center is also a great addition, I love spending time there. With the bathrooms, I dislike how the toilet is only separated by a half wall. That part kind of sucks. I like how your storage in the dorm is built into the wall! Organizing is pretty easy.

My experience at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was only enhanced by my freshman dorm: Craige, or as we affectionately call it 'Crusty Craige'. The friends, no family, that I made at that dorm will stay with my for life and I will always be glad that random selection placed me there.

Craige Hall has one of the best locations out of the freshman dorms - close to the bus stop, gym, and dining hall. However, the aircon units are old, and the one a floor above will drip onto yours and make an annoyingly loud noise. The cleaning staff are incredibly polite and thorough, I only wish the bathrooms consisted of more than one shower and toilet.

I had a great time! I was on the second floor, so I was close to all the main areas. I liked playing at the pool table on the main floor and using our second floor kitchen to make muffins. My RA was great and made my time there so much better.

I loved how quiet and friendly everyone was. The study spaces were great and the staff were very helpful. Only down side was the long walk to main campus for class. The bedrooms were fairly small but the organizational shelves on the wall were great for conserving space!

I've been told that Craige is always crusty but it honestly wasn't that bad. I managed to get a single dorm as a freshman and it was quite nice. The shared bathroom was a little dirty but the common spaces were well kept and cleaned.

When I first found out I was living in Craige Hall, I heard that it was referred to as "Crusty Craige." However, my suitemates and I ended our first year of college calling it "Cozy Craige." Although it was not the newest and most glamorous dorm, this is where I met some of my lifelong best friends and made unforgettable memories. I also had the best RA. I think Craige is like any suite-style dorm, however, for me, it was the people who made it feel like home.
