Grogan Dorm Reviews at North Carolina

The dorm rooms are quite small to be shared, but the good part was the ability to switch roommates if it turned out there was someone you’d prefer sharing a room with over another. Several of my friends, I included, switched roommates without hurt feelings. The common areas were simple and usually quiet. But there was limited availability of desks and windows to stay motivated for such rigorous studies we pursued. Many people ended up studying in their rooms or the library. Yet the close quarters hindered focus due to size and easily becoming distracted by a roommate or things easily accessible. So the library, very far away from the dorm, was the best option. The downside of course was the distance, which didn’t help with motivation to study, and for such a rigorous degree. Overall, it was peaceful form, and most of us got along (granted your fair share of new or accustomed university drama depending on the year you’re in). UNCG is a great school, and that dorm experience doesn’t hinder my current outlook on the wonderful experience of UNCG.

Grogan is an amazing dorm where I made so many new friends that I am still friends with till this day. Everyone is so kind and welcoming which made the process of moving into college a little bit less stressful, not having to worry about classes as well as where I would be staying. They also offer a residential college with classes those that live in the dorms. The classes are another great way of making friends because it focuses on each individual since the classes are small with less than 15 people. I would take advantage of this feature as you can complete some of your courses in the Grogan residential college in the comfort of your own dorm !

Living in the Grogan Residence was a delightful and memorable experience for me. The welcoming and friendly atmosphere within the residence hall made it feel like a home away from home. The spacious and well-designed common areas encouraged social interactions and provided a great place to study and collaborate with fellow residents.

I really liked the RA on my floor. She went out of the way to make masks for everyone given how crazy this year has been. When we had a tornado warning and the RA's had to make sure we were all safe, they made sure we were in a safe location until the all clear was called.

Entering this dorm building, I didn’t know what to expect. After a semester in this community, I’m incredibly happy with my choice to stay here. Everyone within the environment is helpful and kind: students and staff alike.

I have made good friends and I am enjoying my college experience. Grogan is centrally located to all my classes as well as the bookstore, dining hall. In addition, the Walgreen's Pharmacy store is within walking distance.
