Abel Hall Dorm Reviews at University of Nebraska

Abel hall is not a quite dorm at night and it's really up to the RA's to inforce this. Other than that it's not a bad dorm to live in, it's easy to make friends in that first week. Then it is a stay with who you first meet.

I believe that Abel Hall is one of the nicer and cleaner halls on campus. It was nice to have a dining hall right downstairs and you wouldn't have to walk outside to go eat. Herbies market was also great to have in the same building as well.

I feel like overall I had a good experience at Abel Hall, however it can get a little bit noisy at times. The women's bathrooms were meh, but I did hear the men's bathrooms were much worse. The water pressure in the showers was horrible. There were quite a few places where you could go to study which was nice, and it was very convenient to have a food hall attached to the dorm so we didn't have to walk outside in bad weather to get food.

During my stay at Abel Hall I had a great time. The dorm was very nice and everyone was very understanding and friendly. Something that I didn't like was that nothing was very clean like the bathroom because people couldn’t clean up after themselves and the janitors couldn’t spend a lot of time deep cleaning the bathroom and showers.

Everything is within easy walking distance, and the people on my floor were super nice! The furthest building on campus is the journalism building, which is about a 10-15 minute walk, or you can take the electric scooter router towards downtown and be there in under 3 minutes!

Abel hall was a good place to start off my college freshman year. It was nice living by lots of other people since college was a new experience it felt nice going through that same experience with others.

I loved staying in Abel Hall. It was a lot of fun and I made a lot of great friends and am still very close with my Freshman year roommate. While it is a louder dorm, with something always going on, it was a great experience.

Abel Hall is your typical Freshman dorm, college experience. I would recommend it to freshmen coming in, but not to anyone else due to the sheer craziness that takes place there every day. Abel Hall has a great dining hall in the building, so you don't even have to leave to get dinner when it's freezing cold outside. The food is good, the staff is very kind, and the atmosphere is the stereotypical college dorm experience that you see on tv.

I felt like Abel was a great dorm housing experience for a first year student and it gives you a great opportunity to interact with other incoming freshman. As far as traditional dorms go, this one is definitely one I would recommend to incoming freshman (upperclassmen would probably choose to live another housing option).

great experience! i’m glad i went to abel and did not go to a different dorm. i’ve met so many amazing people that are so unique to unl and it excites me to know that i probably would have not met them if it wasn’t for living in abel

Most of my neighbors kept me way later than I would have liked, otherwise it's really sanitary and the staff is super nice. The times when they clean the communal bathrooms got in the way quite a bit though.

I really feel like if you want a traditional dorm living experience this is the perfect hall for you. The experience is great for a first year student and most of the RAs are very helpful and are kind.

It is an excellent stay I am an incoming freshman but I have stayed in the dorms before for a summer camp my sophomore year before covid started. I had an amazing time all the student were very welcoming and so nice which made me wanna stay there so bad my freshman year of college even though it is the most popular dorm amongst freshman.

With covid-19 precautions that we have to take this semester, it's been stressful for everyone but stay manages to do a good job to keep up the cleanliness at the dorms. I enjoy my time there at Abel Hall.

Abel Hall is always very clean and maintained; it holds over a thousand students, so obviously it gets messy (and loud) at times. The location is in a good spot, distanced from the "hub" of UNL but also close enough to everything. My only concern is the safety outside of Abel as sometimes at night I have come upon strangers lurking outside the building.

The university has a great roommate matching service so I really enjoyed living with my roommate. I really did not like the other people on my floor because they were very loud and not a lot was done by the staff to get them under control.

Abel hall is a fun experience at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. It is a bit loud and hard to study but very easy to make friends there. Lots of study rooms, but they tend to be full. Definitely the most fun social dorm.

Although I have only lived in Abel hall for one semester, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else on campus. The diversity in the hall allowed me to meet a variety of people and made some life long friends.

Abel Hall at UNL is the largest and most friendliest hall on campus. You are guaranteed to make some friends on your floor! The hall is Co-ed and has both Men and Women bathrooms on the floor. My favorite part about Abel is Husker Heroes located on the main floor in Abel. Husker Heroes is like an on campus subway! I also love Herbie's Market which is also located in Abel. I would not want to live in any other dorm on campus besides Abel!

This was the ideal dorm experience for me. It was nice enough that I was happy, but just uncomfortable enough that I was able to get the true college experience of learning to deal with situations that are not ideal. My roommate was nice. Everything was nearby and convenient. I am glad that I spent my freshman year on campus. It allowed me to grow as a person, focus on my studies, and become more independent as a young adult. I made friends with people in the building too. One of these friends is now my roommate off campus.
