Casas Del Rio Dorm Reviews at UNM

Casas Del Rio has been a decent dorm to live in, thought there were some issues present. These issues have mostly been in regards to certain utilities. For example, in the building that I had lived in the washers and dryers would be out of order quite frequently that not everybody would be able to do their laundry in a timely manner. Even after they were fixed some would break down again less than a month later. Other than smaller things like that Casas Del Rio was still a decent dorm to live in.

I loved living at Casas for my first years of college! Great placement on campus and they have resident activities all the time (though I'm not sure since the pandemic) so it was easy to meet people. Also living in the 4 person suite was really nice space-wise.

In my 4th year here so I've gotten a chance to see many aspects of Casas. While there are struggles in keeping up with most of the noise and large gatherings they do have good systems to take care of it 24/7. Pre-Covid the commons areas are a great space to meet people and I have had nothing but good experiences with the staff. Maintenance is quick and friendly and management was extremely efficient when I found myself in a dangerous emergency situation caused by another resident.

I could not imagine living in any other dorms. The staff was always helpful and I enjoyed the privacy that I had in my dorm even with roommates. I also enjoyed the community within the dorm and respect within other residents.

Casas Del Rio is right next to La posada which made it very easy to get food. Casas also has your own bathroom that you only shared with three other girls and it is especially quiet which makes it great for studying and focusing on school. The dorm also comes with certain amenities such as a microwave and a refrigerator helping store and heat up your food.

Casas has genuinely been a great place. Everyone has been very kind and everything's been kept clean and tidy by the wonderful staff. It offers a good amount of space for us residents and the amenities are good. It's right on campus so if there were classes I wouldn't miss any of them.
