Governors Hall Dorm Reviews at USI

I was in Governors Hall during my first year at USI during COVID-19. They worked to make us feel safe and to keep everything clean but also tried to make it as fun for us as possible. It is very close to everything on campus, the longest walk I ever had was 10 minutes, but most things took 5.

Governors Hall staff was inviting, and very helpful. I wish that there were more common areas within the hall that students could access without RA assistance. The staff decorated seasonally, and was very inclusive of all students.

The dorms in Governors are far superior to many other dorms on other campuses. University of Southern Indiana definitely has some of the spacious dorms. Most upcoming students fear the sharing the bathroom in a dorm, but here I share a bathroom with less people than I do at home. When choosing the right college for me, the dorm issue was one of my top priorities and at USI I had no worries.

Governors Hall has been a great experience so far. The RA's are all so helpful and have done their best to make it feel like a community even through these odd times. I always feel safe and at home in Governors Hall. The rooms are very nice and were in great shape when I arrived and they keep the building super clean and nice.

It's a very quiet place and I have never heard my neighbors above me either. It's right in the middle of campus making it very easy to get to the cafeteria and other food places on campus. I have lived in governors for a year and a half and I have never had a problem.

I love Governor’s Hall! Everyone is so friendly! This is not a traditional “dorm”. The residence halls on campus are more like apartments, minus a full kitchen. Four students share my suite. We have two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a common living area that is furnished with seating (similar to a living room), a small refrigerator, sink and cabinets. I would definitely recommend Governor’s Hall to others!
