University Village Dorm Reviews at UT Dallas

An advantage to live on the university village is that is relatively 5 min away from the school buildings, student union-which is the student center-, and main university buildings.Additionally, there is safety and security for example patrol shifts at nigh-as well day-, the path across the campus and the UV apartments are illuminated.Most of the time is quiet generally, although sometimes there will be some disturbances if you are on an area near the trash disposal or near the street-outside the campus- like for example if your apartment is near a trash disposal there might be raccoons annoying you with noise at night. This is is where it comes to the things I don't like as the housing office takes quite a time to resolve an issue/report like the raccoon problem which didn't only affect me but the entire building for at least 2 months.Also I don't know how they work, but I think they need to improve on maintenance on the apartments as for new residents will find it dusty, with some repairs around the apartment like for example one of stove wasn't working when I first arrived.I honesty if I where to choose this apartment I might be start letting me know that I might try to get assistance in any possible way to housing office for a report.

Generally living on the University Village is moderate as it has its pros and cons.A big part of the cons is the maintenance as on the first time I move in, there were small roaches-which took at least 2 months to call pest control-, some of the appliances or were broken or need a fix/paint, and it would take some for maintenance-housing office- to respond and resolve a claim. For example, the light outside my apartment had died and it took the housing office two weeks- not including spring break- to replace it.Another example is that probably when you first move-in on your apartment you might see it not very clean as on my experience the carpet on of the living room has several stains on the first day I move on my apartment.But at least is quiet on the area at night,so you can get a restful sleep even there is not any trouble with the neighbors. In respect, each building in the UV apartments, have a teams chat,moderated with an apartment counselor for the community to post about any sells, events, questions and concern about the apartment.Also the area is pretty safe as the streets are well illuminated and there are police patrol at night and even on the day.Also you can contact the housing office, police, and any kind of emergency.Another pos. it that it relatively 5 minute or less to classes and any of the school buildings including retail stores.Overall, university housing is fine just you need to keep an eye on maintenance of your apartment.

I really enjoy living here. The location isn't too bad considering the location of my classes and it's a really welcoming environment. The activities within the dorm are always really enjoyable. I've met some of the best people here.

My experience at the University Village at The University of Texas at Dallas has thus far been beyond pleasant. I have a wonderful roommate, I can never hear my neighbors because of how good the sound quality is, and the location is perfect for me to get to my classes on time.
