Hutchison Hall Dorm Reviews at UW-La Crosse

Man we got our oven taken out and kitchen closed. People had no respect for that place it was a little insane. My experience is definitely dampened by the types of people that lived there, but overall the hall itself was pretty good.

I was at Hutch during COVID so we really didn't do many activities with people in our dorm/cube which killed the "dorm culture". I did like its location, right on campus, close to Whitney (food hall), close to Centennial (the majority of freshman classes are in that building), short walk to rec (gym).

Hutchison was a nice dorm. The bathrooms are older, but clean. I lived there during the pandemic, so I wasn't able to meet a lot of other people. I had a great roommate and we did a lot of things off campus since campus was pretty well locked down due to Covid 19.

It was great, my RA was the best and I love all of the hall activities they planned. The bulletins in the hallways were extremely informative and my hall Director was amazing! It’s in a great location by angell hall with made meeting up with friends nice.

I had a great time in Hutchison Hall this past school year, even with the pandemic. I thought that Hutch was a great location and it had great staff who were always very friendly. Hutchison was also pretty clean, there was a lot of vandalism but the housekeepers were always there to clean up after them.

I loved the location. It was a good distance from the two most important places - the dining center and the rec center. I was on the third floor which is a good workout going up the stairs, but worth it due to the view out my window. I met my best friend across the hall my freshman year and I will forever be thankful that things worked out as they did.

I loved living in Hutchison Hall, even through Covid-19. There were some struggles but I am glad that I stayed on campus. I was able to make friends and meet new people that I probably wouldn't have talked to otherwise.

I stayed in a 3 person room that was designed for 2 people but has a small extra hallway. The room had great heating and was overall a comfortable living space. At one point my door would not shut correctly and, after notifying maintenance, we had it fixed within a few days. The bathrooms always felt clean but definitely had a "lived in" look and could've used another sink. Halfway through the semester I started having problems with one of my roommates. I spoke to the hall director and she handled it extremely well. She sat all of us down to discuss our problems and made sure none of us felt unfairly treated. She was able to find another room for that roommate and checked in on us every now and then to make sure everything was ok. Hutchinson is one of the closest halls to the dining center, making it one of the best places to live on campus.

My experience as a freshmen here has been very positive. It has the flavor of a typical dormitory experience you see in the movies which is exactly the experience I want for my first year! The surrounding residents soon become friends.
