Laux Hall Dorm Reviews at UW-La Crosse

I liked Laux Hall. It was not super active and stayed pretty quiet. I was probably the loudest on my floor. It was very inclusive and everyone was welcome. It was a scholarship dorm which included multicultural students and LGBTQ students. I met a lot of different people and overall had a great experience. The bathrooms were redone and were very nice compared to all the other dorms. I liked all the people and made some forever friends. My RA was amazing too.

I have had a pretty good experience in Laux Hall. The bathrooms are some of the nicest on campus and it is close to the student union which is really nice. The only thing I would say that needs improvement is the amount of noise complaints that my roommate and I have gotten. We were laying in bed one night and one of us laughed and we got a knock on the door telling us to be more quite.

I really like the community in Laux Hall. There is always events being planned and held which is a great way to get to know others and hang out with your friends. Most of my closest friends I met in Laux and it's nice to be able to be to just walk over to their room whenever so I am able to see them often. The hall is also inclusive with first generation college students, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and different cultures. The bathrooms are also some of the nicest bathrooms offered in any traditional residence hall which is a big plus and they are more private than others with stall doors on the showers. My only complaint is the location of the hall, it is very far away from most class buildings, other residence halls, the rec, and the dining hall which can be hard especially in the winter trying to walk somewhere.

Laux Hall was a bit farther away from the middle of campus, but it was nice to be close to the Student Union. In addition, it was really close to Myrick Park which came in handy when it was nice outside. Laux Hall was a smaller dorm, but it was just big enough to get to know everyone that was living there. It was really easy to make friends. There was plenty of events held in the basement by the staff that made me feel welcome and felt secure by the staff in Laux.

For some reason the people on my floor like to run around and chase each other. I have very loud neighbors, the ones across the way yell and slam their door and run around occasionally. The people that live above me like to bounce a golfball on the vinyl tile and sing in falsettos at midnight. My RA is really nice and lives right next door. The bathrooms are always clean and the stalls are super tall and cover the ground for privacy.

The hall is rather loud and quite far away from food and several class buildings, but the gender and lgbt+ inclusiveness is life saving for trans and lgb+ students. The Student Union being across the street is very convenient, however.

Laux Hall is slightly on the outskirts of campus but the upside of that is that you do get your steps in and the campus isn't huge so the location isn't a dealbreaker. This Hall also has a newly renovated bathroom so it's really nice compared to the other traditional halls.

It is a little difficult to review the hall It is located in a great spot on campus and my room is right above the volley ball courts. The RA here has been very helpful. Community bathrooms are a bummer....but that's dorm life for an undergraduate
