Lowndes Hall Dorm Reviews at Valdosta State

My expirence in lowndes hall has been amazing. My resident assistant has had many fun activites for us. Lowndes is a traditional dorm so you are living in the same room as some one, however is can be seen that their is no privacy, in my opinion living with someone in the same room lets you have a friend.

I had a very fun freshman year in this dorm hall. The staff at the time was very friendly. There is also plenty of places to sit and do homework or study. There is even a classroom that normally has a tv in there, and you could have movie nights.

First off there are no bathrooms or sinks in your room they are halfway down the hall. The bathrooms are rarely clean some of the girls are very nasty. We had a problem with girls stealing from one another. We have a thing called quiet hours however they don't enforce them. Our RA is somewhat scared of the people who live here and they don't enforce rules as they should. Our lobby is probably the nicest place to hangout with friends and we have vending machines there.

Hi, I’m a freshman currently living on campus in Lowndes Hall at Valdosta State University. My overall dormitory experience thus far has been pretty decent, however there is still space for improvement when it comes to safety protocols.

Lowndes has shared two-person rooms. It also has a kitchen, with a microwave, fridge, ice maker, oven, and sink, plus a communal bathroom (which is pretty bad, but hopefully will be updated within a year) A large smartboard- like television setup thing to watch movies and such. music rooms and a classroom.

I would say it is interesting, I'm currently still living in Lowndes Hall and if you can get an apartment then get one. Lowndes is one of the low dorms not the top-notch dorms like our other ones such as Georgia Hall or Hopper Hall where you have your own bathroom and don't have to share with the people all around your dorm and you get your own semi-private room which is pretty cool too. Lowndes walls are thin you can hear a pin drop from upstairs and you can hear other people's conversation in their room. So my experience for me to just be a freshman is pretty trash but I wouldn't say all the way bad at least it's somewhere to sleep.

Leaving Lowndes was a great experience because of the people I was with. If I did not have the roommates that I had I probably would not like Lowndes as much. I was actually my last choice. I enned up staying in lowndes one semester. However, it is close to the library and Nevins which is a plus. If someone is considering going to VSU I would recommend going to Goergia Hall, because the dorms are cleaner and they have more space
