Laguna Hall Dorm Reviews at Vanguard

Laguna hall is pretty great the only issue is the showers are pretty small but at least you only have to share with your roommates and there is no air conditioning. The elevator did break for part of the semester so it was out for 2 months but residence life made up for the elevator being broken by buying everyone in our hall tickets to disneyland.

I liked that the entire dorm building is for freshman girls, which made it a comfortable transition into dorming at college. Since I lived on the second floor, I took the stairs almost every time so that I didn't have to wait for the elevator. What I appreciated the most about living in Laguna was having my own bathroom that I shared with my two roommates, as opposed to a public bathroom for everyone on the floor. It meant having to clean our own bathroom, but I didn't mind. It was also nice having a washing machine, dryer, and vacuum cleaner on each floor. The common room on each floor was a nice, quiet place to take phone calls or meet others on your floor.

Laguna is very small. If you dorm without high expectations you will not be let down. It is a very small space so limit what you bring. Coordinate with your roommates! The bathroom is also very small. The washing sink is also the bathroom sink and I suggest small bowls or plates so it will be easier to wash. It just looks old and outdated. There is a heater though but bring blankets because it can be extremely cold.

Even though the dorms in Laguna Hall were small they were well maintained. The best part was that each dorm room had a bathroom. You just had to share it with your roommates, not the entire floor. The building does not have air but being so close to the beach you don't really need it. Each room has a heater and that's all you need.
