Dillard Dorm Reviews at UVA

I enjoyed my time at Dillard. It was a little crowded, but the location was excellent for me as the cafeterias were close and getting to my department was easy and I felt very safe and there was not much noice. Staff was always friendly and helpful.

Dillard is Suite-Style First Year housing arrangements. They are 6 person suites (3 rooms) that share one bathroom which has 1 toilet, 1 shower, and 3 sinks. The living situation works great; however, the location of the dorm is the main concern. It is far from central grounds (about 20 min walk), and seems out of the way of most experiences a UVA student would have. Definitely recommend bringing a bike if you live here. However, Dillard location does still have some upsides. It is close to Runk Dining Hall, and has its own mailroom and laundry. Overall it was a great experience if you makes the best of it, but I am glad that where I am living currently is much closer to central grounds.

The suite style is a nice experience and being able to have your own bathroom and shower is a pleasant experience. However, Dillard is quite a walk from most of the campus/school buildings. It's got plenty of open room for sports and we have our own ping pong and cafeteria style dining hall.

DIllard was a great dorm for my first year. I enjoyed the suite style a lot and it gave me a better chance to meet new people. Only down side was that it was located quite far from central grounds but that did give me more reason to walk for exercise.
