Kronshage Dorm Reviews at University of Wisconsin

Kronshage can be a very fun place to be. The first couple of weeks I was there were amazing. Because it is split into smaller buildings, my building felt comfortable. Unfortunately, Kronshage also has a couple of major downsides. One is that it shines most when the weather is nice. There is a lot of green space and cool places to walk, but in the winter this does not matter much. As soon at the weather got better we had to leave the dorms because of COVID. Also, it was hard to make friends with people in the building that weren't on my floor because no one ever used our common room. At the end of the day, Kronshage is a fine dorm. Nothing special, but also not a complete dumpster.

I was placed in Kronshage first semester freshman year and was not very happy considering it was #10 on my rankings of dormitories on campus. After moving in, I quickly felt very secluded and far away from the rest of the campus and downtown Madison. I was lucky to have a good roommate, but we ended up moving second semester to Ogg which is in the southeast part of campus. The move was quite an upgrade considering the dorms were newer and cleaner, one bathroom was shared by 4 dorms instead of a whole floor, there was a gym on the main floor, the dining hall was right across the street, the work rooms and lounges were very nice, and I was much closer to town and friends.

I was assigned to Kronshage hall for my freshman year. I didn't live there for very long because of COVD-19. I moved back home because it was cheaper for me, but for the time I was there, it was pretty good!
