Sellery Hall Dorm Reviews at University of Wisconsin

While I stayed at Sellery Hall, it was under renovation, so many students were crammed into larger rooms turned into dorms. During my first semester, I lived in one of the larger cramped rooms with five other roommates. We were all different people, but we got along enough. We made it a priority to communicate our feelings honestly and politely, and that helped a lot. However, our room was pretty gross. The ceiling would shed mysterious flakes and fluids, and maintenance would shove rages into the crevices to make it stop. It almost felt like a joke. The second semester, the six our us were split up into three groups of two and moved up a floor into the newly renovated rooms. The size of the three different doubles varied an unfair amount, but you can do nothing about it. The newly renovated rooms were so clean and nice, though. Through it all, there was always the ear-piercing sound of construction on the floors directly above and below us.

It was a great space to interact with my peers and I had a great living experience. We were able to easily decorate our room, all furniture was in good condition, we had air conditioning, our resident assistance was helpful, and it was an overall great time.

I have loved my experience at Sellery Hall during my freshman year at UW Madison! Despite the pandemic, I have been able to meet some great friends. Move-in day went very smoothly due to the hard work of many UW student volunteers.

Sellery was considered one of the "fun" dorms. I loved living at Sellery because it was super social and I met a lot of great people. The noise levels sometimes were loud but there are house fellows that try and control the noise if it gets too loud. The location of Sellery is one of the best on campus and I highly recommend living here!!

Living in Sellery Hall has been a great experience for me. Not only have I met amazing people on my floor and throughout the building, but my house fellow is an extremely kind person who is always willing to help me with any problem I have and make our experience extremely fun, even during this crazy time!
