Lincoln and Washington Halls Dorm Reviews at Western Illinois

It was very quiet and secure while I lived there with very few issues, except for the fire alarms that would be set off in the middle of the night. I had an issue during the first semester with my roommate, but got the chance to switch and live with one of my best friends, who I am also living with this coming semesters as well.

While Staying away from home for the first time, Lincoln Hall has made my experience amazing. Everyone is very nice and very helpful. All the girls on my floor show great respect to everyones needs, if that means when someone ask to turn down the music they will. I would say we are almost like a family.

I enjoyed my experience at Lincoln/Washington. Personally, my floor was very loud and it irritated me a lot but that was nothing against the University. Great location and bathrooms were taken care of pretty well! However, the janitor wasn't wearing a mask multiple times which was a huge issue for us. Elevators are pretty old but they are working.

While my floor is rather quiet, commotion is very common from outside. The hallways also smell like weed quite often, but it's not as bad as other floors. Overall it's clean, especially since the start of covid, and I feel safe enough to forget to lock my door soemtimes.

Lincoln hall 2nd floor is a small but intimate dormitory. There are moments of silence but at times a neighbor will play their music which can be quite enjoyable. The experience is once in a lifetime and exposes students to a life alone and with others.

Lincoln has been a great experience for a transfer freshman. The RA's are amazing and even during COVID find ways to share in traditional floor activities. The dorm is a bit of a distance from my classes as a music major but if you are a Freshman or Sophomore still taking many of your general education classes you are in the right location. We have a convenience store in the hall and you can order the amazing wings here but for dining you will need to go across campus.
