Gleason-Hairston Terrace Hall Dorm Reviews at Winston-Salem State

This is a great Dorm to move into if you're enrolled on campus at, Winston Salem State University. Its quiet, clean, and Spacious. The rooms are comfortable and big enough to get creative with aesthetics.

Gleason itself is a wonderful dorm. The the suites are spacious and so are the bathrooms. The kitchen has a dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator. The common space between the two room is also spacious and has a large window to allow sunlight in throughout the day. It is somewhat far from classes however Gleason is by far the best dorm I've lived in or visited.

It always smells weird and the fire alarms go off at any time. It was noisy at night but, I guess all college dorms are. The school's safety ratings overall is not good. It was fun getting to hang in the dorms with friends.

My experience at Gleason-Hairston Terrace Hall was cut by Covid-19. But what I experienced was a quiet building overall. I had good experiences and also bad. I feel as though anybody could come into the building at any time which isn't safe especially with the location of the school. Yet it's a pro when family wants to visit. Personally I had a few problems with maintenance. Things like toilet not flushing correctly, shower steam not escaping the bathroom because the fan didn't work, dishwasher, light fixtures, etc. It would take a week for WSSU maintenance to attend to my roommates and I, but when they did come everything would be fixed correctly.

Gleason-Harrison dormitory is a fairly pleasant. Gleason rooms are set up as suites. The rooms are very spacious, it allows a lot of natural sunlight, and are appealing to the eye. Gleason provides a stove, refrigerator, and a couch from the living room. I would strongly recommend this dormitory to any upper classmen searching for a spacious room. However, at night, mostly on the weekends it can be a little noisy at times. Nothing unbearable, but it is noticeable.

The dorm always had a smell and the fire alarms continuously went off at all hours of the day and night. My roommates would bring other students in our room and come in late at night. My roommate would not clean up after herself.

Gleason was a nice dorm. It was usually clean and the rooms were in good condition. I had put in a maintenance request for the shower, and it was fixed quickly. I enjoyed my time there and would definitely recommend it as a dorm.

It’s nice and very spacious snd I think it is nicer than all the other dorms and the room set up is really nice. I recommend anyone who is going until their sophomore year to stay there. It is so much to love
