Kilcawley House Dorm Reviews at Youngstown State

My experience at the Kilcawley House wasn't too far from the standards of an everyday dorm. Youngstown itself is not the best location, but the place on campus was quite beautiful and I would recommend the Kilcawley House to others.

I was also a student staff for Kilcawley house. It is right in center of campus everything is near from there. Chik fil a and recreation center is also near the housing. It helps if you have morning classes.

I was nervous living on my own, but Kilcawley House felt like a second home. Compared to the other dorms at YSU, Kilcawley felt the most like a community as I got to know many of my neighbors quite well. If there were more events held by the dormitory like the others, Kilcawley would probably be the best dorm at Youngstown State University.

My stay at Kilcawley was not a good one. While staying at the Kilcawley House I experienced stealing, broken items, faulty ventilation systems, and noisy hallways. Overall I would not give Kilcawley House a high rating.

It is close to the football field and close to my classes. There is staff there at all times and able to assist me when I have a need. They are very nice and professional. I like the dorm and the space provided.

During covid, it made me stay in the Kilcawely house for much longer, only for the first semester, and it made me realize some things in that dorm. For starters, the people on my floor made it known that they were on that floor too because It was non-stop loudness coming from some people's dorms, so it all depends on what floor you are on. I would recommend the 2 floors because that is the quietest floor if you are looking for. The cleanliness is nice, they always cleaning every time I see them, which is good. I don't know if it's because of covid, but when you go to Youngstown's common areas, it's not really much to do because there are rarely any people in there. Like the basement, we have a pool table in the basement, but nobody goes down there. Quiet For the bathroom, as I said, it really just depends on who is on your floor; I know for my floor, it was girls that did the most nasties things in that bathroom and more to man. Other than that, Maintenace is good, and the staff is very nice, and you get to be my chick fa la; Kilcawley is not bad.

Stereotypical dorm experience. Rooms are small but people are mostly friendly. If you don't have the option of living off campus, this is a good option. Floors are split by gender due to there only being one bathroom per floor. The building has a traditional double-loaded corridor layout, with rooms on both sides of the hallway. All rooms are two-person rooms.

it was a good experience living in the dorm and seeing that lifestyle but it is not a dorm that I would recommend my children go to. It is hard because youngstown as a whole city in itself needs a uplifting facelift.

Everyone is very welcoming and fun to be around. All of the RAs work their hardest to make sure that everyone in the residence halls are comfortable. Everyone in the building makes sure that everything is tended to when need be, whether that be maintenance or something silly like locking yourself out of your room.
