Richmond Quadrangle

8 Reviews

The dorms are a nice size and the walls/doors are thick enough that, even when our neighbors are blasting music with their door open, as long as we close our door, we don't hear the music. The windows are large and let in lots of light, and the view of the trees in the kitchen (which has a microwave as well as a functioning oven/stove, so you can cook real food) is really pretty. There's no AC, so the end of summer heat when moving in was killer, but there's heat, and it gets comfortably warm in the winter. The bathroom is kept clean, though it is small. The common areas, as well as the fact that it's connected to other areas that have restaurants/vending machines/more study spaces/the mail room, is super convenient. The laundry room is also decently sized, has nice chairs and tables, and is very rarely packed. The dorm is also right across the street from the best dining hall on campus, which is super convenient. more

Wilkeson Quadrangle

It was loud at night, most of it was from students who didn't live on our floor. The bathrooms were relatively cleaned as they were cleaned every day. But the maintenance was terrible as our showers were constantly broken or needed to be fixed at least 5 times during the last semester. To the point where one of the showers was broken for the last 2-3 months. more

Fargo Quadrangle

Fargo Quad was a fairly nice area to dorm in. It’s on north campus and right next to where the busses are to get to classes— so no having to stand outside in the cold during winter month. The only issue really were the fire alarms. more

Ellicot Complex

The Ellicot Complex is where everyone hangs out. It feels as though that is the main meeting ground of campus that is not academic. People are there to socialize, feel at home, and make new friends. It felt comforting living there and I truly felt like it was a home. more

Fargo

The rooms are spacious but the bathrooms are not very nice. Governers are a lot better to live in than Fargo from my experience. It's very close to the food court and the other residence halls. However, a long walk from the academic spine more

Porter Quadrangle

Porter Quad consists of mainly upperclassmen, especially on the floor I resided on (9th floor). Overall the staff was nice and responsive whenever there were lockouts or things of that nature. The maintenance and custodial staff were also very friendly. more

Greiner Hall

Greiner was my favorite place to live at UB, but my time was cut short because of COVID. It’s like living in an apartment with a private bathroom you only share with your roommates/friends. Also Au Bon Pain has really good food. more

Goodyear Hall

My experience was much better than I expected. I thought it would be awkward having two strangers as roommates but it was really fun! Clean spacious room and bathroom shared with four girls. Free streaming service when living on campus, dining hall on lower level so easy access, vending machines on lower levels as well. Mailboxes in lower level that connected to next building. Had steps and elevators. Had to scan to get into building so safety wasn’t a concern. Was never super noisy so was able to study well. Had a kitchen on my floor as well with working microwave and stove and table. more

Spaulding

2 Reviews

I enjoyed my time in the dorms at University at Buffalo. Elliott complex provided a great way for undergraduates to build relationships, by connecting all the dorm buildings with a common area. I believe the dorms were kept clean, and managed properly. I would recommend UB to any student looking for a unique and inviting on campus community. more

Richmond 1

There really aren't any problems with Richmond. Richmond is a good place to dorm in. The only thing that I would say is that people a lot of the time don't know how to clean after themselves which I find annoying. The residents there a lot of the time don't clean up their hair or clean up the kitchen. more

This was by far the best place to live on campus for me. Any work order requests were taken care of quickly. The staff is very respectful with any questions you might have. The walk to class had to be the best part. You're a 5 minute walk from the NSC. And if you don't want to walk then shuttles are available. Be careful though, sometimes the shuttle won't arrive on the schedule times. more

GOVERNOR'S

1 Review

My experience at governor's overall was amazing. Although, the dorms can be very noisy with other students yelling outside my door until 4am. Governor's for the most part was very clean, they have two amazing dining halls with fantastic food. Maintenance was very fast with small issues in the dorms. Overall, I had a wonderful experience during my time at governor's that unfortunately was cut short due to the pandemic. more

Griener Hall

1 Review

Griener Hall is one of the dorming complexes at UB as there's central AC as well as Au Bon Pain, I like the fact that the elevators and stairwell only allow students who live there to access the building, and although these measures exist to protect students I don't think its enough as many randoms tend to come in even after Au Bon Pain and I don't mean visitors, I had an incident where I was unjustifiably verbally attacked and threatened by a random and that shook my idea of what safety was more

One of the best on campus dorm options. More of a quiet area of campus. Has a personal washer and dryer and great community rooms. The areas are usually kept very clean and issues are fixed within a day or two. more

I live in a suite. The cleaning staff is very kind and considerate, they come in in the morning but not too early. The maintenance crew is also very nice and are good about social distancing. All requests are addressed in a timely manner. The showers are never cleaned through which is gross. more

Flint Village Apartments

1 Review

I enjoy living at Flint Village Apartments. It's only a five minute walk from North Campus and it's fairly close to the stadium so you can hear any events going on. The apartments are clean and the provided appliances are functional. There is a variety of rooming options and you will get your own room no matter the amount of roommates. The staff in the Living Center and the building maintenance workers are friendly and accommodating. more
