Fargo was a great place to live as a freshman. With the additional fee, my roommates and I had our own bathroom that we had to maintain ourselves. The walls were very thin and our neighbors were very loud so that was the only con.

Welcome to Fargo! I would describe the experience here as that of a typical dorm hall on UB's North Campus, though COVID practices have slightly changed the feel of the community. For you as a student, that means that the walls are incredibly thin and you will definitely need a mattress topper, but the people are typically friendly and the staff is usually awesome. Unlike South Campus, bathrooms are communal here but they are cleaned often now and work orders are responded to pretty quickly. Students are amicable and have been alright with following the new guest policies (being that we can't have any guests in the dorms) which has lead to significantly quieter weekends on campus. As far as communal spaces go, the lounges are excellent if you have a noisy roommate or require a change in scenery for schoolwork and the kitchens are typically clean and empty. The only concern for these areas is that they are located on every other floor so there is a chance you end up in one of the halls with no accommodations, but it is a short walk up or down as there are stairs interspersed throughout the building. This is the same with laundry, as we only have one large room on the first floor with washing/drying machines.

Fargo is a very simple yet complex designed building that connects you to everywhere else. The diversity of the structure allows you to travel to certain places without having to go outside especially, in the winter. I enjoy the access to public transportation and several lounge areas including the food resource areas. Such as a store names "TheElli".
