Carmel was the only dorm I chose to stay in while I lived on campus at Baldwin Wallace University. There are three floors. Each floor designed for quiet and studious hours, and a time to collaborate with your neighbors who happen to be your classmates or in the same program you are in. I lived in Carmel for two years. My roommate became my best friend. The dorm rooms are very spacious and the window is huge, welcoming a lot of sunlight. These dorms do not have communal bathrooms. However, you share your bathroom with your next-door neighbors. They are your suitemates. This type of living gives you a sense of community while still being clean and having your own space. I loved having this type of dorm, always opening the door to friends, and always having friends to encourage you to get your work done. The only bad thing about the bathrooms was the shower was so small, but it could have been worse. The culture of Carmel dorm was perfect. Everyone's door was always open, full of friendly neighbors. However, everyone in the dorm set goals to accomplish and we all worked together to encourage one another. It was quiet and studious and the perfect place for a college student to live. I would recommend living in Carmel for any student looking for the perfect college experience because that is exactly what I got living in Carmel at Baldwin Wallace University.
