Troutman Tower

Troutman Tower was a great community to experience. The people here were very nice and supporting of incoming freshmen like me! They were there to talk and immediately become your friend. If you had a problem with where to find tutoring, they will help you by send links to where to find and set up a tutoring appointment. They maintenance arrive the same day, if not then the next day, to help fix any appliance that you file for. The staff is very nice and friendly as well. more

Calkins Hall

I lived in Calkins when I was a freshman. It was a really nice dorm as it had good facilities by it. It can be a little annoying living there if you have classes on the south side of campus but you would get used to it. It had a basketball and volleyball court behind it which was really enjoyable to use. more

Sweeney Hall

Very old and out dated. Had black mold everywhere and didn’t do anything about it. Maintenance was just college kids and they never solved the problems. Close to everything on campus. Just needs to have more modern updates. more

Saxe Hall

I really like living in Saxe Hall, it's not too far from my classes. We have also been rated to have the best food court on campus!! I really love it here; everyone is so kind and welcoming. If I need any help, the staff does an amazing job at helping me and answering my questions. more

Campbell Tower

I loved living in campbell hall, I had an amazing RA named Tanner. I met most of my close college friends on my floor. The common spaces were clean and there were very few big messes or issues and they got fixed promptly. more

Merrill, Hall

I love Merrill. I could not imagine a better first year dorm experience. It feels like such a community and its located in the middle of every other hall. Outdated but cozy. I would totally recommend south and especially Merrill. more

Herrig Hall

Overall, it's a pretty decent place to live and I do like the location of it. It's pretty close to my classes. My furthest class is about a 15-minute walk from here. As for the maintenance of the halls, the staff are prompt to respond to whatever issues and solve them as soon as possible. more

Kulhavi Tower

Kulhavi was great for it being a pandemic. You are able secluded if you felt the need as well as go out and meet new people. You have a large living room that is great to hangout and play games in. There is a mini kitchen area that is great for easy clean up and makes space for more utensils and storage. Plus its only ten steps from 7/11 which is always a great treat. more

Beddow Hall

I enjoy living here! Usually, people are pretty respectful and kind. Most of us have 3 roommates which I think is a good number. We also have private bathrooms, so we don't have to worry about going down the hall or to another floor to shower or use the bathroom. more

Fabiano Hall

I really enjoyed living in Fabiano Hall. I had 2 other roommates, and we each had our room! There was 2 girls to each bathroom. I liked that each room had a big window that allowed natural sunlight to brighten the bedroom. I also loved how big and open our living room was. The RA in Fabiano Hall was awesome! He cared about each of his residences. He would check in on us every couple weeks to make sure we all were doing well. Fabiano Hall is perfect for people who wanted the dorm experience but still want some privacy and their own space! more

Trout Hall

For the most part, I enjoyed my time at Trout. I made some friends there and I have some amazing memories. The staff is all amazing at what they do and they all take their jobs very seriously. My biggest complaints would have to be about the noise level. Don't plan on getting any sleep because chances are your neighbors will keep you up all night. If they don't the train that honks its horn all hours of the night surely will. Another big complaint is the heat. Trout does not have any a/c even though your vents have a setting for it. For the price, you would think that you would have that luxury, but apparently not. more

Emmons Hall

The dorms seemed outdated and dirty. The oven was very old. The stairs leading to the outside were dirty. The staff dealt with the conflict between roommates poorly with little communication. When my roommate had lice, the staff did nothing to help and refused to let me use the vacuum. more

Woldt Hall

My experience at Woldt Hall has been pretty positive overall. I have plenty of space to myself and I have met many lifelong friends here. I also love the location of Woldt on CMU's campus. Additionally, I think the food at Fresh Food Company downstairs is pretty good. more
