Merrill, Hall Dorm Reviews at CMU

I love Merrill. I could not imagine a better first year dorm experience. It feels like such a community and its located in the middle of every other hall. Outdated but cozy. I would totally recommend south and especially Merrill.

Definitely not one of the best halls on CMU's campus, but I did like it. South halls are slightly more outdated than the other halls, but I would not say that they are a lot worse. I mean, it is a typical dorm. Merrill is in a nice central location and was smaller, so it didn't feel crowded. I personally really liked the dining hall as well. If you are a freshman, parking in the freshman lots, it is one of the closest halls, which is also a benefit.

Merrill Hall was a great dorm for me as a college freshman. It was quiet compared to other freshman dorms I visited, but plenty of other students around to hang out with. It was a great location, good size, and convenient to have a cafeteria attached.

Obviously, this year has been a really different experience than any other year but the way the dorm has been run this year is horrible tbh. I really like the front desk staff and it is a really quiet dorm, not in a good way. Overall it's okay I like my roommate and the dorm itself is really nice so no complaints.
