Avocet Dorm Reviews at CSUMB

The space of the rooms and closets were nice, but the best part of the dorms was the fact that we had a bathroom in the room. There are different types of rooms available, I had a room fit for 3 people. But there were rooms called jack and jills and it had two people in a room and a connecting bathroom to another two people. Overall, the size and appearance is nice!

My experience was mostly good, the only negative thing about living in Avocet was the front door wouldn’t lock and living on the first floor made me feel unsafe. And the laundry room was always dirty.

Avocet was a nice building because we had our own bathroom in each room but the bathrooms were quite dirty and felt old and run down. a facelift in the bathrooms would make a huge difference in the appearance. There also should be shelves in the showers for shampoo bottles and such. It is quite dangerous to have all the soaps and stuff on the floor because someone could easily slip and fall. The sinks were an awkward height. The entirety of the building was acceptable and made do for one year but is not comparable to what other schools have to offer.
