Essentially, Southern Scholarship Foundation (SSF) is a rent-free housing scholarship where you only have to pay about $1000 a semester for food, utilities, and etcetera. The only con is that you have to chores about every other day to keep the house clean and you live with 16-30 other residents depending on what house you're assigned to. Aside from this, it's a big win in my book as you're saving thousands each year.
