Brophy Hall Dorm Reviews at Ferris State

While I technically live in McNerney hall, which is the hall connected to Brophy. The dorms are the same. The tile in my bathroom is yellow and the grout in the shower is stained black and I’ve scrubbed it with bleach. But the location is nice as it’s on the outskirts of campus so you don’t hear all the main campus activities. Don’t think this allows you a good nights sleep though, as at night you tend to have people running up and down the halls, yelling and full body slamming your doors. Residents also leave common areas trashed to the point where the lobby bathrooms have been closed. But for the price I’m paying, having two common areas with TV’s and a workout room is nice.

I was there during covid when everyone had to stay in their rooms all the time, so it was louder due to that. I loved that the rooms were bigger than most of the other halls. but the bathrooms were just really short for someone who is almost 6ft tall.

Brophy Hall overall was a good experience. It was quiet most of the time, the staff was wonderful and always very helpful if there was ever any issues or concerns, and it was in a great location by the Rock Cafe, so walking to get food was very easy. Brophy is also right next to a basketball and beach volleyball court, which makes for a great opportunity to meet new people.

I lived in Brophy hall my freshman year of college and I really enjoyed the friendships and the experiences I created while I was there. There are a few RA's that were not very appealing or friendly which made it feel uncomfortable being in common areas or join in on activities as a hall.

I'm staying at Brophy during covid-19 so its been okay. The only thing that really gets me is that people like to blast music into the night hours so sometimes its hard to sleep, and that everything in the bathroom is very short. but other than that I've had a great experience.
