Cookie and T.R. Jr. Potter Hall Dorm Reviews at Maryville

Most of the students were friendly. I had a chance to meet my roommate through Facebook. This allowed us to know a bit about one another. We seemed to connect in similar ways. This eased my tension during move in weekend. Overall it was an experience I wouldn't change.

It's a relatively quiet dorm. It's bigger than the newest dorm hall but you are definitely getting what you paid for if that. Not much student life and activities around each floor or the hall itself. It's actually an old Marriott hotel that never got upgraded that the university just bought.

It is a great community dorm. Easy to make friends and feels homie. Enjoy the hotel-like atmosphere. It is a smaller campus so it is not super far from food. It is a nice balance to stay focused on school and still be able to make friends.

As a senior in high school, Potter Hall seemed like the perfect dorm. It wasn't too expensive, I could have my own bathroom, and it was in a safe area. Since arriving on campus, I still enjoy all of these things thoroughly. I enjoy having my own bathroom in my room as it is cleaner and more convenient. I also never have to worry about walking outside or around the building by myself as it is extremely safe. The dorm offers a friendly atmosphere as it has lounge areas with ping pong, 8 ball, TVs that connect to our school-provided iPads, and lots of seating. It also has a gym inside the building, which is extremely convenient, and a laundry room. The staff is extremely kind and the RA's always plan activities to keep residents entertained. One thing I do not like is that the dorm rooms do not have an overhead light, which can be unfortunate and inconvenient when you're trying to do things in your room at night, but other than that I would really recommend Potter Hall! I've really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back second semester.
