The kitchen has a huge fridge, a gas stove, and most importantly a DISHWASHER!! The view from my corner bedroom is fabulous... the neighborhood is great.... walkable to all the things I need. It is a little farther from my classes... but that is overcome with a little planning! more

Rubin Hall

Everyone that didn't live in Rubin complains that there is no AC but everyone who lived there couldn't care less. Sometimes it was too hot, but we bought fans or hung out in the air conditioned 2nd floor lounge. It's about 5 minutes from campus which is amazing for early classes, and some of the classes may even be in the building on the first floor. The vibe and community is the best out of all of the dorms and the fact that it about half the price of every other Freshman dorm helps too. more

Lafayette

Although it is far from the main campus, the building itself is wonderful. I live on the 17th floor and have a beautiful view. The rooms are a great size, and I love having a kitchen. The common area on the ground floor is also great, and I make use of it, especially the music and dance rooms. more

I spent my freshmen year at NYU at Brittany Hall. Best freshmen dorm. Everyone I know who lived there last year loved the community environment of Brittany. The safety officers care about safety and I don't think there were any safety alerts here for my first year. Pretty chill dorm, but the actual living spaces can be small. Most rooms are doubles and triples. It can be a homey place if you put work into making it feel like home. more

Coral Tower

The chairs were kinda old, and the mattress is somewhat lumpy, but it's pretty great for the cost. Love the built in lamps in the desks!! The location is also great - it's right by Union Square so city life is very accessible and there is a train statin not even a full block away. The L can take you straight to the 6 which takes you to Washington Square or the L can take you to the PATH to NJ. one of the farther dorms from campus relative to Paulson (I was there last year) and Alumni and Third North though, so it's up to preference. more

Broome Street Residential College

The greatest gem of living in Broome is the location; in SoHo, you get to experience one of the wealthiest zip codes in the US while only having to pay college prices. I loved staying here for the past three years because I was able to live with my closest friends and the programming really felt intentional. I also really loved the building staff. We felt like a very tight-knit community even during the pandemic when we couldn't see each other. more

how I would feel about it depends on various factors such as the size, location, cleanliness, noise level, and roommate(s). If I had a spacious and well-equipped dorm room with a great view and considerate roommates, I'd be happy and comfortable. However, if my dorm room was crowded, dirty, noisy, or if I did not get along well with my roommates, I would feel frustrated and anxious. Overall, a good dorm room experience can contribute positively to one's college experience. more

Carlyle Court

I've only been here during covid, so most of the lounges and stuff weren't open. We have kitchens though, which is nice. The RAs are also pretty chill, and the students are mostly underclassman. The only downside is that it's kind of far away from the rest of campus and it cost a little more than other dorms. more

Washington Square Village

The location was unbeatable, across the street from the library. Accessing classes and the rest of the campus was beyond convenient. The location in the context of New York was also incredible, a short walk to the entire Downtown of New York. The dorm itself was in quite poor condition. The kitchen and bathroom were in dire need of an upgrade, the building was quite old and did not have the most pleasant smell. At the time, I could have rented something much more up to date for the same price. more

The Senior House at W. 13th Street

Urbancrest King's Cross

Urbanest was in the heart of the city and allowed for students to feel safe no matter what time of the day. I would go out at night and come back to a well-lit dorm with security and staff getting me. The building hosted a bunch of events so that we all felt included. more

Great experience! Premises were always clean, well maintained. During the winter, the snow plows cleaned up the parking area very effectively. In the spring and summer months I was able to enjoy all the ammenities with friends. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! I really enjoyed my experience, living there!! more

I absolutely love Paulson. It has so many more resources and events that other dorms at NYU do not have. My only problem is how the elevators are pretty frequently broken and the fire alarms go off a lot. Besides that, I absolutely could not be happier. more
