Weinstein Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at NYU

I had a wonderful first dorm experience at Weinstein Hall and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a dorm that is very close to campus, has many dining options, and staff you are quickly reachable.

I had a great experience! It’s right next to Washington Square Park and close to most classes. My farthest class during my freshman year was a 15 minute walk and I had a phenomenal view of the Washington Mews as well as the park.

Weinstein was bad! We constantly had rodents or bugs and maintenance often ignored our requests to come to fix issues. The staff was rude and unaccommodating and never had our wellbeing or safety as their priority. Also the fire alarm would go off about six times a semester between 3-4 am

Weinstein dorms are incredibly small (especially compared to other NYU dorms), but having all that food available during winter storms is deal, as is waking up ten minutes before class and only having a two-minute walk for you to get there on time.

Most students really like this dorm because it has the best dining hall. I would have to agree. Weinstein has three total dining halls and a small corner store inside. Aside from the elevators breaking down every other week, I really do love my dorm

It’s pretty good but noisy and messy at times. Looking back I would probably still have chosen Weinstein because of the location and dining hall options but it is certainly not the most lively or pretty dorm at NYU.

The only thing that makes this residence hall worth it is the fact that it is in close proximity to EVERYTHING. It's right next to Washington Square Park and has 2 dining halls downstairs. It's NYU's oldest residence hall, so I guess that explains why the building is a bit run-down and cramped.
