Hand College Dorm Reviews at Stony Brook

The building is well kept in maintenance. The community this college is located in is pretty quiet and peaceful, which is something I really like because it doesn't feel overwhelming with outside noises such as traffic.

Cooking dorms with a kitchen, dining space, and 3 rooms, and 1 bathroom. Bathroom gets crowded in the mornings and evenings, but it's cleaned every Tuesday. Hallways and common spaces are always clean. One problem is that the fire alarm goes off very easily and often perhaps due to it being a cooking dorm.

Hand College is closest dorms near the Health Science Center which is connected to the Stony Brook University Hospital. It may be a 10 minute walk to get to your classes near the center of campus. The pro is the all the nature and natural landscape that surrounds Tabler Quad. You can enjoy a bike ride or jog by the woods surrounding the campus. Tabler Quad is also one of the first Quads you drive onto campus for moving day so your parents will thank you for the short trip instead of having to navigate the roads of Stony's campus to get to the other Quads.

Hand College is really great if you are a focused driven student that needs there quiet times to fall asleep and or study in peace. We have a kitchen which is great. There's a great view of nature outside our windows. The bathroom is cleaned weekly by very respectful and nice staff. I really love living there.
