Irving College: Mendelsohn Quad Dorm Reviews at Stony Brook

Living at Irving College in Mendelson Quad at Stony Brook University has been a transformative experience. The supportive community helped me feel at home, fostering friendships that made campus life vibrant and welcoming. The diverse mix of students challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, participate in events, and collaborate on projects that enriched my academic journey. Late-night study sessions, group activities, and shared experiences taught me independence and time management while also creating lasting memories. This experience strengthened my interpersonal skills and deepened my connection to the campus community, preparing me for future opportunities with confidence and a sense of belonging.

I loved Mendelsohn! It was a classic dorm at the time. It was safe, the R.A.'s did their jobs really well and the dorm was located close to classes. I really loved my time there. The rooms were also bigger than other schools' dormitories which was a bonus.

My favorite part of living here is that it is very close to the places I need to be at (library, recreation center, residential computing center, lecture halls) which makes it easier to form connections and make friends.
