Lawrinson Hall Dorm Reviews at Syracuse

Overall the experience of living in Lawrinson Hall is good. It is about a 10 minute walk from most of campus, has a dining hall nearby, and is relatively safe. My floor can be very loud especially on nights when parties are held, and this loudness can last until about midnight. The bathrooms on my floor are the biggest challenge I have faced so far because of how dirty they can be due to some of the other students on my floor. The doors are VERY heavy and will slam if not shut quietly, which can be extremely bothersome at 2 and 3 in the morning when trying to sleep. All of the negative things, however, do hinge on the behavior of the students, not the staff, who are all very nice and are very good at their jobs.

Living in Lawrinson was a chaotic experience but overall it was good. The dorms were nice and some even have hardwood. The cleanliness of your floor depends partially on the other people who live there with you but they do come to clean every day.

Overall great! It has excellent facilities and amazing views! It's also near all the main buildings and the 2 main dining halls. They have washing machines on all floors which makes things practical, the bathrooms are private and the staff is great! Some of the dorms even have hardwood floors and they all have heaters for winter.

The size and layout of the rooms were smaller than anticipated but supplied furniture with convenient storage. It wasn't suffocating. Noise levels were chaotic on the weekends due to partiers, and this noise sometimes bled into weeknights. The bathrooms were a hit or miss, you always wanted to aim for the single-serving shower rooms. It really depends on the quality of your floormates, that's all I can say.

Lawrinson Hall was an amazing experience! Besides being able to wake up to a beautiful sunset, this building had a penthouse for students to study in unlike other halls. There was a compute cluster in the building with printers which were very beneficial to me.

I loved living in Lawrinson freshman year. It is one of the bigger dorms for first year students and is about a 10-15 minute walk from the quad, but very close to Falk. It is a super clean and social dorm. Most of the rooms are split doubles and the bathrooms are pod style so they are individual! No stalls!
