Underwood Dorm Reviews at Texas A&M

Since it’s an all girls dorm, everyone is super nice and easy to talk to. There’s white boards next to your dorm door, so a lot of girls like to put questions or polls that everyone else can answer. In the beginning there was visitation hours, but we ended up taking a vote all a hall and it turned into 24 hour visitations. The only thing I could say is that there’s a bunch of dust everywhere. You can try and clean it but it’ll come back super fast.

Very quiet, maintenance was nice, only had one night where the A/C made the dorms 60 degrees. Girls only, and very clean! I was in the dorms in 2021, and Covid guidelines were still a little in place. Even with that, everyone was encouraged to go to events safely and hang out with their neighbors when it became a bit safer. I personally really liked it!

Underwood was recently renovated and the facilities like the kitchen and personal bathrooms are nice. The rooms are spacious and with it being an all girl dorm the environment is welcoming. The only thing I would mention would be the slight lenience when it comes to the male visitors. People are instructed to escort their visitors as they would clearly be out of place and some even try leak in when you open the dorm door with your swipe card. More strict monitoring of these rules would be nice.

I really enjoyed living at underwood. There was a great sense of community among the residents, and the resident advisors were really encouraging. Everyone was respectful, and was not disruptive to other residents. I would definitely recommend any upcoming freshman to live in this dorm!

Living in Underwood for my first year at Texas A&M University was honestly so fun. It was a dorm of all girls so I never worried about other guys, and everything was so clean. It was a huge living space, plus I only had to share a restroom with my roommate which I absolutely loved.

I lived here my first semester of college. It was the best experience I've had living in college. It was a female only dorm and was extremely safe. The community and location was the most convenient thing ever. I will always miss living on campus. It's just so darn expensive.
