De Neve- Cedar Dorm Reviews at UCLA

I was able to make a lot of friends because the RAs were very friendly and helped us meet each other. the bathrooms however are not always clean especially the shower stalls but its usually not too bad

My experience at De Neve-Cedar has been a very pleasant experience. The staff are really nice but because there is a very little amount of students on campus there has been less care when it comes to the staff being more vigilant about tending to the needs of the students. For example, we are supposed to get our bathrooms cleaned once a week, but there have been many times where my floor has been neglected for multiple weeks in a row for cleaning. Additionally, my faucet and my other friend's faucet has been leaking and no measures have been taking to try to fix it after we have brought it up to maintenance multiple times. If I have anything really positive to say about the dorm experience is that I am happy that I have been introduced to people that I wouldn't have otherwise found myself socializing with. The dorm experience isn't supposed to be glamorous. We are all supposed to be relishing in how it isn't the best. But, we are also taking this time to transition into adulthood and learn certain life skills including persistence and adapting to new situations.

I loved living here. The rooms were nice, with private bathrooms. The common area/ study spaces were clean and perfect for doing homework or hanging out. De Neve is the closest dorm to campus, which is very convenient.
