Santa Catalina Hall Dorm Reviews at UCSB

I’m in a double in the north tower of San Cat. The building is beautiful and the rooms are nice. It sucks that is is a mile off campus but the bike ride isn’t bad and the buses run from here to school frequently.

Santa Catalina Hall was a great experience as a freshman especially with the private bathrooms. It still provided a great dorm experience without being too far removed from the main campus. Even though it was further it was it's own environment and living there as a freshman really gave me a unique experience

I really enjoyed my time living in this dorm. I think it was perfect for a first-year student like myself to get to know others. However, I did not like the bathroom situation since my suitemates were very messy.

I always felt safe at my dorm. The rooms were far more spacious than the other dorms for freshman. So the mile bike ride to campus was well worth it. The gym, dining hall, and pool on site were a huge bonus. Ocean side did get very hot during the warmer months. If I had to redo freshman year I would choose the same dorm.

A pretty clean dorm that offered many amenities such as a pool, rec room, gym, and laundry room. Dinning was right next to the dorm. However, the dorm was about a mile from campus so you either had to bike or take the bus.

Santa Catalina Hall was a great experience. It is the most social dorm at UCSB, and that says a lot considering how social UCSB is, in general. Although a bit pricy and far from campus, the commute isn't long and having private bathrooms is worth the price.

I love it here. My roommates are clean friendly and quiet. The hall is very well maintained. I would recommend to anyone to stay here. I feel safe on campus and in my hall. We also have fun on weekends but keep it safe and minimal.

Although Santa Catalina Hall is located a mile off the main campus, there are many efficient and convenient methods of transportation. Most students either bike or bus (which is free with your student access card), and some choose to board or walk. Bus stops are very close to the dorm, and the dining common is only a couple of steps away from the dorm itself. There is also a small market close by that you can purchase snacks from!
