Sandpiper Hall

overall one of the better dorms especially for freshman. common areas are pretty clean and the staff is good. It is kind of loud and the RA's do not care too much about that but overall I would recommend sandpiper more

Graham-Hewlett

Graham-Hewlett is a co-ed dorm with males on one side of the hall and females on the other; with the exception of the community floor. I stayed on the Hewlett side, and compared to the other dorms that my friends stayed in at UNCW, I was 100% glad that I chose Graham-Hewlett. The location is great, just a short distanced to each dining area, as well as Chancellors walk. I always felt very safe, and my RA was wonderful. The only downfall was the usual of dorm experiences, having to share a bathroom with 3 other people could get a bit dirty, and house-keeping was very loud first thing in the morning, but also very easy to overlook when it comes to comparison with other dorms. You have a room with one other roommate, you share a common room with one other set of roommates, and you all four share one side of a bathroom that is connected to 4 other people, but they have their own side. Overall, my experience was a positive one, and like I said, in comparison to the other dorms at UNCW, Graham-Hewlett is top on the list for freshman. more

Graham - Hewlett Halls

My experience at Graham-Hewlett was not terrible. At times, I felt parking was an issue, due to it being limited parking near the building--especially at night. I was not comfortable walking lengthy distances at night. The staff in the building were very friendly and timely when cleaning the restrooms. The dorm room can seem a little snug for two students living together, so it's important to being only what you may need until you can situate yourself. more

Pelican Hall

Pelican Hall is a beautiful and sanitary brand new building on the UNCW campus. The double occupancy dorm rooms are spacious and have high quality desks, bed frames, wardrobes, and dressers. Each of the 4 floors are split into 4 pods, with a study room at the end of each pod. The study rooms each have a huge floor-to-ceiling window that allows plenty of sunshine into the room and makes the environment very comfortable. I simply really enjoy living here! more

Seahawk Crossing Building 3

Seahawk Crossing is the perfect style of dorm, you get the freedom of having your own room, bathroom, and kitchen while also being able to still be connected to the people you live with. Crossing allows residents to gain independence and learn how to live on their own as one has their own room, shares a bathroom and has a full kitchen. This dorm is fun because you get to pick who you live with and you can live with up to 7 of your best friends. This dorm also comes with your own dryer and washer which brings so much convenience as you don't have to haul your laundry bag down a hallway and hope that there is a machine open. The dorm also has it's own thermostat which is perfect because you wont wake up sweating in the middle of the night and you won't be cold in the winter time. The rooms are very spacious and come with a decent sized closet with a shelf on the top. One could perfectly fit a desk, bed, a television, and their own person furniture and still have a lot of open room. The bathroom is very clean and has a nice shower and a huge countertop and a lot of cabinet space. The spaces are easy to clean and the maintenance people are very helpful and quick to respond. The kitchen comes with a microwave, oven, stove, ad full fridge. There is a lot of counter pace and plenty of cabinets. The living room is very spacious and comes with a very comfy couch and chair. The law outside of the building is my favorite part of the crossing buildings. The space is very large and has stands to hold hammocks and you can rent out volleyballs and soccer balls to play with. There's nothing better than sitting outside on the lawn with your friends on a warm day just talking or playing some fun games. It is also so much fun to be able to walk upstairs or down the hall to go and hang out with all of the friends you meet. This is perfect because you don't have to hang out in one room like you would if you lived in a normal dorm. You have to option to move freely and hang out in the kitchen, living room, or a bedroom which makes being with your friends very enjoyable. Overall, Seahawk Crossing Building 3 is a perfect dorm and I highly recommend that everyone considers living here as it is the perfect dorm for absolutely anyone. more

Seahawk Landing 4

Seahawk Landing is truly amazing with huge on-campus apartments available to undergraduate and graduate students. They are often four bedroom, two bathroom apartments that come with a spacious kitchen and living room, a washer and dryer, and full fridge. The Landing area has a pool and a small campus store. The only downfall would be that the walls are paper. more

Loggerhead Hall

I love everything about Loggerhead Hall except that my room A/C and Heat unit has been out for two months and no one seems in a hurry to repair it. When we call maintenance, we keep getting passed off to someone else. more

Seahawk Landing

I haven't had many issues with Seahawk Landing 5, other than the occasional loud neighbor late at night! The building is a little out of the way from the rest of the campus as opposed to Seahawk Village, but it can be nice to not get the traffic from campus. more

Seahawk Crossing 2

Seahawk Crossing (Building 2) is not a bad place at all! It is apartment style so there can be anywhere from 4-8 people living in a "dorm". Everyone has their own room and it is two to a bathroom. There is a living room, kitchen, and washer/dryer. I feel very safe here and from what I've seen it's pretty clean! Other than the occasional thump, running, or music playing, it isn't noisy. It's a college dorm so it's what you'd expect! more

Seahawk Crossing 1

The appliances work fine most of the time; however, the stove tends to heat food rather quickly, so you will need to keep a close eye on what you are cooking. I live in the room on the far side of the building, which provides a spacious living room area and a decent amount of space in your individual room. more

Schwartz hall

This dorm was decent. I was really worried going into freshman year because I really did not want to deal with a communal bathroom situation but it really wasn't that bad, as long as you help maintain its' cleanliness. Rooms are surprisingly big and common areas have room for everyone to sit. more

Hewlett Hall

Hewlett and Graham are the same thing. It is one of the older dorms on campus so it is not nice and modern as some of the others. The best part is the common rooms which are basically a living room shared between your dorm room and another dorm room. more
