New Hall West Dorm Reviews at VA Tech

It was amazing and the common rooms were absolutely great. I lived on the third floor and I loved my room. The bathroom was nice and the room was wide enough. The mirror and sink was great too! Also, the kitchen improved my dorm life!

New Hall West had some really good things, like the private bathrooms that made it worthwhile, but there are bedbugs, mold in the vents and the VT issued mattress, most of the showers are missing a showerhead and the closet doors have issues a lot. It is a strong party dorm, and has some nice study rooms at the end of each hall that are quite nice. The laundry room is in the basement though and has a vending machine filled with lost socks.

Being a resident of New Hall West was overall a great experience. Didn't have to worry about the cleanliness of the dorm and all the staff were incredibly friendly. The only thing I'd change is how quiet the dorm is. Sometimes I'd be woken up by parties or construction.

It was basically like staying in a hotel. Not a very sociable dorm but I still made friends in my hall. I was on the fourth floor which had high ceilings. Very nice, nicer than my current apartment. Awesome bathrooms. Only issue was the distance from campus. Close to West End dining hall though.
