Mt Clef Dorm Reviews at Cal Lutheran

My experience at Mt. Clef Hall has been one of growth, community, and memorable firsts. As a first-generation college student, I wasn’t sure what to expect living on campus, but Mt. Clef quickly became more than just a dorm—it became a home away from home. From the first night, when our RA hosted an icebreaker event, I started to build connections with people who, like me, were navigating new independence. We bonded over late-night study sessions, hallway conversations, and spontaneous movie nights in the lounge. The hall's intimate layout made it easy to meet people, and it didn’t take long for familiar faces to become trusted friends. We supported each other through the stress of exams, homesickness, and adjusting to college life. Living in Mt. Clef helped me learn how to share a space respectfully, balance responsibilities, and develop better time management. It was in that building where I had my first real conversations about mental health, identity, and future goals. What stood out most was the sense of belonging. Whether it was sharing meals in the common kitchen or decorating our doors during holidays, the small moments added up. Mt. Clef didn’t just house students—it created a community.

I got to meet a lot of friends in the Mt Clef dorms, but it also allowed you to get your personal space and alone time if needed. The common areas are a good way to meet more people and socialize. The rooms are perfect for small groups to hangout in.

My experience at Mt Clef was not what I expected. I thought I was going to be alone the whole time and not make new friends or anything like that but I've met my two best friends in Mt Clef and it was such an experience to live with other people in such a well running dorm area I can't wait to come back and re-live it my sophomore year on campus again.

The rooms are generously-sized, the building is pretty and well-maintained, and the location allows for easy access to the entire campus. Due to the pandemic, I have been forced to spend a lot of time in my room and in my dorm, and I can honestly say that I love where I live.

The dorming experience at Mt Clef was fun and great for getting to know everyone as well as having your own personal space for studying. The set up of the dorm rooms are similar to those of a jack and jill style bedroom where you and a roommate shares a joint bathroom with two other suite mates. I personally liked this set up more than other dorming option where it was two to three other people in a bedroom and the bathroom and living room outside.

I love my time at My Clef cause I got to dorm with my friend. I lived in a suite so i did not need to use the communal bathroom. The dorm also had a kitchen so that I can cook. Also, it’s very clean and beautiful
