Dorm 34 Dorm Reviews at Mercy

It was on 34th street which is a really nice but noisy part of manhattan. It's around many stores, many food spots (two blocks away from korea town) and many stores. The staff members are nice & the cleanliness really all depends on you & how you keep your dorm clean.

I stayed here for a summer intensive with the Joffrey Ballet, and for the most part I was satisfied with the state of the dorm. At one point, there was a bit of a cockroach problem on the 3rd floor, and I was staying on the 7th. There was also an armed person in the building next to the dorm, and we went into a temporary code red. The actual security of the dorm was good though and you couldn't get in or out without a key card. There was also a smoke alarm that caused us to evacuate the building due to something burning in the 7th floor laundry rooms where the microwaves are located.

I just moved here from North Carolina. The dorm is centered right in the middle of Manhattan. There is a security guard at the door 24/7 so if you are not a resident you will not be allowed in. The dorms are very spacious and with covid you get a room to yourself with two beds. The bathrooms are a good size but the plumbing is a little slow, you may have to flush twice. My suitemate can not hear me when I play music or talk on the phone. This is the ideal place to live if you want to start a new life in the big apple.
