Estill Hall

10 Reviews

Estill is a good dorm, but it's an old building. there are a lot of crickets from outside that get inside the building. the restroom is pretty spacious. It's a very clean dormitory since it's an all-girls dorm. The only downside is that it is expensive for an old building. Not only that but it does not provide a refrigerator or a microwave in the rooms. You are not allowed to have any cooking appliances, just a refrigerator. more

Jackson-Shaver Hall

My experience at Jackson Shaver was nice. I enjoyed my roommates and the dorm. Overall the dorm was nice the downsize was that the room and bathroom was small. The common area was nice and you were able to place games like the Wii and watch TV in the common area. Safety wise was great you could only enter the building if someone had a key to get in. more

So far so good. Clean .. dorm sizes are good and you have enough privacy. Has a large common area for guests. Has an elevator for convenience and everything is easy to locate. Dorm is near the food market and not too far from other activities. more

Lone Star

2 Reviews

When I saw this Dorm I was satisfied on how clean and uptight it looked. Also I was semi private and it was in short walking distance to my classes. The pricing was good for what I was getting so overall I was really satisfied. I really liked how Lone Star offered private bathrooms because I did not want to share a bathroom with three other people. So with the price and privacy combines I think Lone Star is a great choice! more

Baldwin

1 Review

Baldwin was my first, and only, dorm at Sam Houston State University. It was one of the cheaper ones, and it surely showed. The location was not bad, it was only about a half-mile walk to the University, and you passed a duck pond along the way. The walls were paper thin, and you could hear everything. It was more on the side of a party dorm, and not many people took their studies seriously at that dorm. more

I had a good experience the only thing I would complain about is the frat (KA) house that is right by the dorm you can hear when they have parties, you also have to walk up a hill for your classes. Other then that the experience was good especially for it being my first time in a dorm. more

Belvin-Buchanan Hall

My time at this dorm was pretty good for the time I was there. There was barely any commotion that would occur, everyone was very quiet which allowed me to think for my classes, and the staff were very nice. The only time that was a little conflicting to deal with was a campus blackout, but otherwise, it was a nice experience. more

Sterling Union

Staffing often obtuse. Maintenance is currently a hit to miss, but they are polite. The area is modern. I haven't had the most exhilarating experience with Sterling Union. They changed the previous management which I had trouble with, after then it has been fairly peaceful but nevertheless, continuously stressful with lack of attentiveness. more

Gibbs

1 Review

I had a good experience staying at Gibbs. I am a neat person, so I made sure to inform my roommate about my neatness, so me and my roommate kept the dorm room quite clean. I didn't run into any major problems staying at Gibbs. It is on the campus, so it's close to classrooms and dining halls. One problem I had was that the room was a little small, so there were times when there was no privacy between me and my roommate. I believe if you work to be nice, neat, and are open to staying in a dorm with a roommate, then you can stay at Gibbs. more
