University of Oregon Dorm Reviews

My experience has been a pleasant one while staying in Walton Hall. It has been relatively quiet and my RA has been attentive in all the ways that matter. There have been many opportunities afforded to become immersed in the community but only if you want to. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are cleaned once a week by maintenance. It is a great dorm to choose. more

Global Scholars Hall was such an upgrade from Hamilton Hall. Way more space, it felt more luxurious and worth the money. Some of the amenities are also way better. For example they have a lot more fresh and healthier eateries. The building itself just has a lot of natural light and has such an overall great atmosphere more

I had a very good experience with this dorm. This dorm is one of the nicest living spaces on campus. The rooms are nicely sized, as well as nice big bathrooms. Everyone was friendly and there were never any complaints, hands down the best dorm. more

Chill hallmates, my floor was the creative arts floor at the time. Doors locked automatically but no one would have because we were all trustworthy. Concrete walls blocked out noise outside of room. Rooms on small side. more

Hamilton's best aspect is the food. It is home to some of the best and most popular dining choice on campus. Besides that it is relatively outdated, contains communal bathrooms, and smaller rooms. However, UO is in the process of building a new Hamilton Hall so i'm sure these issues will be non existent in the near future. more

Justice Bean is great because of its access to ARCs, as well as its convenient location in the heart of campus close to two dining options. However, if you're looking for a quiet experience, this is not the dorm for you, as many residents are not considerate of quiet hours. more

I feel that even though people say Earl Hall is old, I think that it is very similar to every other dorm. Its location is very convenient to the places I want/need to go. It is also a very spacious room, bigger then I was anticipating, and the RA are very sweet. more

Great overall! I definitely would recommend this as a first choice for incoming students looking at residence halls. Its a welcoming community of students and has amazing options for food! It's a great dorm to live in. more

A very social hall, easy place to make friends. I find that all the staff there are super friendly. If you were to stay here, be a part of an ARC. This makes the experience so much better and community oriented. The dorms are super tiny, but worth every penny as you cannot beat the location. more

Carson Hall has a great location in the center of campus. It's one of the more affordable dorms on campus which is greta and it also has a dining hall in the bottom floor. The dorm is quite old and has a series of issues such as a broken elevator and washing machine as well as showers that aren't frequently cleaned. more

I had the best year living in LLC.Location can’t be beat and there is a great sense of community in this dorm.The dorm is in the newer side and rooms are a pretty good size with plenty of room for storing all my clothes. more

Riley Hall is a smaller hall in comparison to most other ones both on and off campus but I enjoy it a lot because of how it allows for everyone to get closer to each other. I am pretty close with the people on my floor and it is a very inviting community and environment for everyone. This hall is off campus however the walk to campus isn’t as far as it may seem, and if it does seem long, the scenery will keep you occupied. more

It was very neat, I didn’t expect the dorms to be as big as they were. Everything was organized for people to find there own way of living in the space given. I would say to decorate how you would like, it would look very bland if there was no decor. more

It was way too far from campus but it wasnt a horrible experience. I don't think i would want to live there again in the future but i wouldn't be upset if i was placed there. Having a bathroom inside my room was nice. more

This dorm was very far away from most of the classes I had. The bathrooms were almost always broken and filthy. People were nice and the food was decent. The room was fairly big but located near the elevator and stairs so very noisy with doors slamming all hours of the night. more

Although I've only been a resident for two weeks, Justice Bean is superior in comparison to the other residence halls here at the University Of Oregon. This hall was recently renovated, therefore everything is new and updated! In comparison to the older dorms, the common areas are much brighter and offer more space. The hall offers rooms dedicated to the ARCs the university offers as well as personal rooms with computers to use at any time. They have a printer, as well as two kitchens. My personal favorites are the courtyards in between the east and west wings of the buildings. These courtyards offer study and hangout space, as well as a host for puppy-playtime! During puppy-playtime, campus residents bring their dogs for students to play with. But along with hall activities, Justice Bean offers three floors with double sized rooms. Each room has two beds, two desks, two closets as well as two additional drawers under each bed. Of course, these rooms are shared, but with the amount of storage offered, it's hard to feel cluttered. The restrooms are very close to the rooms and there are additional sinks located outside of the restrooms. The restrooms are cleaned and the trash is picked up each morning. Although this hall is clean and modern, Justice Bean does not have a dining hall. It is about a 5 minute walk from the common dining hall and is right across the street from the more expensive eating options. Along with leaving to find something to eat, you also have to go across the street to the Global Scholars Hall to reload your laundry card and check your mail/pick up packages. Although Justice Bean doesn't offer mailboxes or a dining hall, the walks to each of these are relatively short. Therefore, I believe it is worth it to live here. The hall is always busy with student activities and a great place to study and get work done. This hall is also very close to the student parking lots, as well as the basketball court! Walking is inevitable on a college campus, but the benefits offered in this hall do not compare to the others. Overall, living in Bean offers you a way to make friends and enjoy your time away from home! more
